Handcrafted plaster, (250 x 150mm), capturing the serene expression of John Guthrie with eyes closed and mouth slightly parted. The bust is finely detailed, showcasing the intricate features and contours of the face, preserved in a tranquil repose. Created by renowned Edinburgh artist and sculptor Denis Peploe, RSA (Scottish 1914-93), son of the famous artist Samuel John Peploe.
Indistinct early markings on the underside. Some light wear and minor chips consistent with age, adding to its authentic, aged patina. See photos for condition.
