Vintage Convex Sunburst Mirror – Baroque Style Wall Mirror

Vintage Gilt Sunburst Convex Mirror

A striking vintage sunburst convex mirror featuring a richly detailed gilt frame with radiating, flame-like rays surrounding a softly curved mirror plate. The sculptural silhouette and warm gold finish give this piece a strong architectural presence, making it an immediate focal point when wall-mounted.

Convex mirrors of this style draw on mid-century and earlier decorative traditions, where sunburst forms were used to introduce light, movement, and symbolism into an interior. The convex glass subtly distorts reflections, adding depth and visual interest rather than acting as a purely functional mirror.

This mirror works particularly well in darker interiors, hallways, or above a mantel, where it can amplify candlelight and soften shadow. It pairs beautifully with antique and vintage objects, layered wall hangings, or as a counterpoint to more restrained architectural pieces.

As with many vintage mirrors, the surface shows light signs of age consistent with its character, contributing to its authenticity rather than detracting from it. A distinctive decorative object, suitable as a statement wall piece or as part of a larger, collected arrangement.
