Candle Care & Safety
Candle Care & Safety
Our candles are designed to be lived with slowly and deliberately. Proper care ensures a clean, even burn and preserves the form and presence of the candle over time.
Before Lighting
-
Always place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
-
Trim the wick to approximately 5mm before each burn. This helps prevent smoking and ensures a steady flame.
-
Keep the wax surface free from dust, debris, or trimmed wick fragments.
During Use
-
Allow the candle to burn long enough for the entire surface to melt evenly, especially on the first burn. This helps prevent tunnelling.
-
Do not burn for longer than 3–4 hours at a time.
-
Keep the flame away from drafts, which may cause uneven burning or dripping.
-
Never leave a burning candle unattended.
After Extinguishing
-
Extinguish the flame gently — avoid blowing directly onto the wick.
-
Allow the wax to cool and set fully before moving the candle.
-
Re-trim the wick once cooled, ready for the next use.
General Safety
- Never leave a candle unattended or out of sight.
-
Keep out of reach of children and pets.
-
Always maintain a safe distance between burning candles.
-
Do not burn a candle once the wax level is low or the wick holder becomes visible.
-
Never move or touch a candle while the wax is hot.
A Note on Use
Our candles are intended as both functional light sources and sculptural objects. When not lit, they may be enjoyed simply for their form and presence within a space.
Burn with care, intention and restraint.
